Tribal Museum
Step into the past
with a visit to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribal Museum located near the Tribal
Enterprise businesses at exit 80, I-15. See the collection of old
photographs dating back to from 1895, and artifacts from the site of the olf
Fort Hall.
The Tribal Museum was
built in 1985 and was closed for several years. It re-opened in 1993 by a
group of dedicated volunteers with the help of community members who donated
and loaned many photos and precious heirlooms to the museum.
This museum is
dedicated to those kind and generous people in our community who see a real
need to tell our story from our point of view.
With old photographs,
displays and exhibits you will have a chance to learn how the
Shoshone-Bannock people lived and settled the area around eastern Idaho.
The museum also
carries a line of authentic arts and crafts made by Tribal members as well
as books where you can learn about the Shoshone-Bannock people as well as
other North American Indian Tribes. Shoshone
